Perigon Networks expands its infrastructure team with new Senior Network Engineer Patrick Sutton

Perigon Networks, whose main brands include Managed.com and PowerDNN, is excited to welcome Patrick Sutton to its corporate leadership team. Patrick will be managing the company’s growing infrastructure department as the new Senior Network Engineer.

Patrick Sutton - Senior Network Engineer
Patrick brings a wealth of IT and advanced networking experience to our accomplished engineering team. With more than 17 years of experience in the Information Technology field, Patrick is uniquely qualified to help our team as we continue to expand our global network and presence.

Throughout the course of his career, Patrick has worked on IT projects of all sizes, from setting up small business networks to building out colossal supercomputers with more than 2,000 individual nodes.

Previously, Patrick has worked for Dell Computers as an on-site Systems Engineer, managing the IT and networking needs for Dell clients within the Midwest region. Patrick also has extensive experience working with Microsoft-based server deployments, and building datacenter clusters utilizing Cisco hardware for advanced configurations.

A native of Missouri, Patrick came to the Omaha-Metro area for a network engineer position at the Holland Computing Center. The Holland Center manages multiple, high-performance supercomputer resources at both the Peter Kiewit Institute in Omaha, as well as the Schorr Center for Computer Science and Engineering on the campus of the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.

At the Holland Center, Patrick was instrumental in building the network architecture for several supercomputers used for advanced data science research. He calls his work in cutting-edge supercomputer technologies a highlight of his career.

“I’ve actually got to build some of the fastest computers in the world,” he said. “And my DNA is somewhere on those racks.”

Known for his meticulous attention to detail, Patrick believes it’s important to take the time to set up network and datacenter clusters right the first time.

“A lot of it just comes down to pride in your work,” he said. “It’s all about pride in what you do.”

Patrick’s extensive experience working with complicated, large-scale datacenter and network infrastructure configurations make him a perfect fit for our growing executive team. With Managed.com and PowerDNN supporting multiple datacenter and cloud clusters located around the world, Patrick is well-suited to his new role as senior network engineer to help manage our global network and infrastructure.

“Infrastructure is always kind of a lesser focus for people,” Patrick said, “but it’s the foundation of your house [or network]. We work on building that great foundation, and everything else just kind of combines to take care of itself.”
