Prior to 2010, PowerDNN provisioned dedicated services with the MailEnable email software. At the end of 2009 we transitioned away from that product to SmarterMail because, in our opinion, it was more secure, improved spam protection, and offered our customers a better value in performance and features. All customers since that time have been provisioned onto SmarterMail and we have strongly encouraged existing customers to convert away from MailEnable.
This email only applies to customers who joined PowerDNN prior to 2010
If you joined PowerDNN in 2010 or later, this notice does not apply to you. As of late 2010, PowerDNN stopped supporting MainEnable entirely, but some of our customers have opted to remain on that product for their mail services. If you have already migrated to SmarterMail, there is nothing that you need to do.
MailEnable Security Update
This week, MailEnable identified another serious security issue with their software and have released a patch. If you are still using MailEnable on the PowerDNN platform we strongly suggest that you contact the PowerDNN support team immediately for assistance in migrating to SmarterMail. If you choose to remain on the MailEnable platform and do not apply the security patch, your mail services may become compromised and your mail services may be impacted. With this knowledge, if to still choose to remain on MainEnable, we strongly recommend that you upgrade to the latest version immediately for your own protection.
You can read more about the issues in the MailEnable security update.
To upgarde and migrate to SmarterMail, contact the PowerDNN support team by opening a ticket.
You can find the latest downloads of MailEnable on the MailEnable download page.
We are always glad to help,
