Default Managed.com Page Displayed for WWW.domainname.com

Issue

When you go to domain.com your website loads properly, but when you go to www.domain.com the default Managed.com page is displayed.

Cause
The site is missing the www host header.

Resolution

You will need to add the www host header through your Control Panel.  Follow the steps below for the version of the Plesk Control Panel your site is hosted on to add the host header.

Please confirm your NS records are pointed at Managed.com or you have an "A" record for WWW.domain.com before completing the steps below.  If you are unsure of how to check this please refer to our How to Bring your Site Live with Managed.com article.

Plesk 11 & 12

The www host header is automatically added in Plesk 11/12 and there is no option to remove it.  If you are still unable to access your site via the www URL and your site is hosted on Plesk 11/12 please contact Support to have the host header manually added to IIS.

Plesk 9
  1. Log in to your Control Panel.
  2. Click on Domains and select the domain you wish to manage.
  3. Click on the Domain Administration drop down menu and select Rename Domain.
  4. On the Rename Domain page check the WWW box to add the host header.
  5. Click OK.
If the WWW box is already checked in Step 4 above uncheck it and click OK, and then repeat steps 3 - 5 again. If the issue continues please contact support to confirm the host headers are being added correctly.
