Using the Control Panel File Manager
You can download, upload, edit, and otherwise manipulate files on your site directly through your control panel.
Plesk 12.x
- Log into your Control Panel.
- Choose the correct subscription from the drop down menu in the upper right.
- Click on Domains. Then select your domain.
- Go to the Websites & Domains tab.
- Click on Files.
- To download a file locally, navigate to the file in your folder structure, then click on the line where the file is located (but not the file name) which will open the dialog offering a Download option. Select Download.
- To modify the file if it is a text-based file, click the name of the file and an editor will open allowing you to make changes. Always back up your site first before making changes to the web.config file.
- To upload a file to the folder structure, click Upload Files. This will open up the dialog box to select the file from your local machine, browse to the file then select Open.
Plesk 11.x
- Log into your Control Panel.
- Choose the correct subscription from the drop down menu in the upper right.
- Click on Domains. Then select your domain.
- Go to the Websites & Domains tab.
- Click on File Manager.
- To download a file locally, navigate to the file in your folder structure, then click on the green download icon.
- To modify the file if it is a text-based file, click the name of the file and an editor will open allowing you to make changes. Always back up your site first before making changes to the web.config file.
- To upload a file to the folder structure, click Add New File.
- Choose the Upload file radio button and navigate to the file you would like to upload from your local machine to your website's folder structure then click OK.
Plesk 9.x
- Log into your Control Panel.
- Click on the Home tab.
- Click on the Domains and then your domain name.
- Under Files, Click on File Manager.
From here, you can add new files and folders, upload files, and edit existing files.
