How to Set a Specific IP Address for Outbound Mail
If you would like to set one specific IP address to be used for all outbound mail on your server running SmarterMail you can follow the steps below.
- Connect to your dedicated server using Remote Desktop.
- Open a browser and go to http://localhost:9998.
- Log into the SmarterMail Admin account. If you're unsure of the SmarterMail Admin password you can retrieve it using the instructions in our How to Retrieve Passwords Using Control Suite article.
- Click the Settings tab.
- Click Protocol Settings.
- Click the SMTP Out tab.
- Click the drop down menu for the Outbound IP and select the IP address to be used for outbound mail.
- Click Save.
The server will now send the mail out via the assigned IP address.
