How to Install or Update a Module or Skin in DotNetNuke

If you need to install a skin or module for on your DotNetNuke website you can follow the steps below for the DotNetNuke version running on your site.
 
Installing/Updating a DotNetNuke 9.x Module
 
  1. Log into your site as either HOST or another supersuser level account.
  2. Open Settings -> Extensions 
  3. Click "install extension"
  4. Drag and drop the package into the window, or browse to the desired file to upload it
  5. Click Next, accept the license, continue through the install. When finished click on the Return button.
 
Installing/Updating a DotNetNuke 7.x Module
  1. Log into your site as either HOST or another supersuser level account.
  2. Navigate to the Host menu and select Extensions.
  3. Click on Install Extension Wizard.
  4. As directed browse to the zip file that contains the data for your module, select it then click Open.
  5. Click Next, accept the license, continue through the install. When finished click on the Return button.
Installing/Updating a DotNetNuke 6.x Module
  1. Log into your site as either HOST or another supersuser level account.
  2. Navigate to the Host menu and select Extensions.
  3. Hover over the the title Extension for a few seconds to generate the Manage button. Click Manage.
  4. Click on Install Extension Wizard.
  5. As directed browse to the zip file that contains the data for your module, select it then click Open.
  6. Click Next, accept the license, continue through the install. When finished click on the Return button.
Installing/Updating a DotNetNuke 5.x Module
  1. Log into your site as either HOST or another supersuser level account.
  2. Navigate to the Host > Extensions. From this page you can see all of the modules or extensions that you have installed on your site. You can also see the version information and whether or not it is in use.
  3. If there is a DNN registered update or upgrade to the module or extension, it will be listed on the right side of the page.
  4. Click the link and the site will either take you to a module installation page for the module vendor, or walk you through an automatic upgrade of the module.
  5. Follow the steps to update the module provided either by the site, or by the module vendor.
  6. If the module or extension is not listed as having an update available in the Module Definitions page, contact the module developer about possible updates.
