How to Set Up DomainKeys for Email on a Dedicated Server
If you want to set up DomainKeys in SmarterMail on your dedicated server (DomainKeys are not supported on shared subscriptions) you can follow the steps below.
You must do this on a domain level, so Domain Administrator access must be enabled on one of your email accounts. This can be done by following the steps in the How to Provide Domain Administrator Access to a Mail User article.
SmarterMail 7.X and Above
- Log into SmarterMail as the Domain Administrator.
- Click the Settings icon.
- Expand Domain Settings > Advanced Settings.
- Click Mail Signing.
- Click the Certificate tab.
- In the Selector field, enter a unique name.
- Click Generate Key.
SmarterMail 6.X and Below
- Log into SmarterMail as the Domain Administrator.
- Click the Settings icon.
- Expand Domain Settings > Advanced Settings.
- Click DomainKeys.
- Click the Certificate tab.
- In the Selector field, enter a unique name.
- Click Generate Key.
The TXT Record Name and TXT Record Value fields will populate. You will need to set up TXT record in the DNS Settings of the domain with this name and value. If you are unsure of how to do this you may follow the steps in the How to Modify DNS Records in the Plesk Control Panel article.
