How To Transfer a Domain to Managed.com

Domain Registration
This article will explain the process of transferring an existing domain registration to Managed.com from your current registrar.
 
Verifying that your domain is eligible for transfer
  • The domain MUST NOT have been registered or transferred 60 days ago, or the process will not complete
  • Unlock the domain at the current registrar, see your current registrar to complete this
  • If required, you will need to remove any WHOIS privacy
  • Generate Auth/EPP code at the current registrar, see your current registrar to complete this
Ordering the domain transfer through the Managed.com Control Panel
  1. Go to the Managed.com Control Panel or login to your portal
  2. While in the Managed.com Control Panel you can begin the order process


     
  3. Select Add to Cart
  4. Once the order is completed an email will be sent to the email address on file, with the subject Domain Transfer Initiated. An example of the email is listed below:
      
    Dear <customer name>,

Thank you for your domain transfer order. Your order has been received and we have now initiated the transfer process. The details of the domain purchase are below:

Domain: <domain ordered>
Registration Length: 1 Year/s
Transfer Price: $<price> USD
Renewal Price: $<price> USD
Next Due Date: <date due>

You may login to your client area at https://portal.managed.com/ to manage your domain.

After all the steps are completed above, the process to transfer the domain from the current registrar will begin. The timing of the transfer depends on the registrar as long as the WHOIS status of the domain shows PendingTransfer, the process will complete automatically after a 5 day waiting period.
 
Please Note: The 5 day waiting period begins once the Registrar of Record (Current Registrar) has been notified of the transfer request by the registry. This typically occurs within 12-24 hours after the transfer has been approved by your or your client
