High CPU Utilization - SQL Installation Not Complete
Issue
A 2012 Server with no active websites displays high CPU usage. Plesk may be slow to load and move between tabs or applications. SQL errors may be generated when performing tasks in Plesk.
Cause
This is a known bug. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2793634.After you install SQL Server 2012 SP1 on a server, the Windows Installer (Msiexec.exe) process is repeatedly started to repair certain assemblies. Additionally, the following events are logged in the Application log:
Resolution
Dedicated server customers can download and install the patch if they wish, or can contact Support for assistance with the issue.
- Log into the server and download the 64-bit version of the package.
- Select the file in the download manager of your browser or navigate to the Downloads folder.
- Run the patch on the server.
- A re-boot of the server is not required. You will, however, need to run iisreset.
