Dnnmax.com/Tempdomain.com Temporary URL Shows Up After The Site Is Live
When accessing your site after you make your site live, the .dnnmax.com / tempdomain.com temporary URL appears in some links.
The reason this happens is a known issue with the dnnmax.com / tempdomain.com URL being cached on some pages of a site. Below are the steps to help resolve this issue. If this does not resolve your issue you can submit a ticket to the support department.
Please note: This KB article is designed for users that have already made their site live with Managed.com.
Removing the dnnmax.com / tempdomain.com domain alias from the Plesk Control Panel
Plesk 12.5
- Login to your Managed.com Control Panel via the Account Login link at Managed.com.
- Click the Domains tab.
- Click the domain alias (ie: dnnmax.com or tempdomain.com alias) you wish to remove.
- Click Remove Domain Alias
Plesk 12.0
- Login to your Managed.com Control Panel via the Account Login link at Managed.com.
- Select the Domains tab.
- Select the domain you wish to work on.
- Select the Websites & Domains tab.
- Scroll down towards the bottom and expand Show More under the alias
- Click Remove Domain Alias
Plesk 11.x
- Login to your Managed.com Control Panel via the Account Login link at Managed.com.
- Select the Domains tab.
- Select the domain you wish to work on.
- Select the Websites & Domains tab.Scroll down towards the bottom and check the box next to the domain alias you wish to delete.
- Select OK to delete the domain alias.
Plesk 9.x
- Login to your Managed.com Control Panel via the Account Login link at Managed.com.
- Select Domain Aliases.
- Check the box next to the domain alias you want to remove and select OK.
Removing the dnnmax.com / tempdomain.com portal alias from DNN
This process involves logging into the database via SQL Management Studio. If you feel uncomfortable about this you can contact the support department.
- Login to your database via SQL Management Studio. If you need to know how to connect to your database via SQL Management Studio you can use the KB article listed: How To Connect to Your MS SQL 2012 Database.
- Open the Tables folder.
- Locate the dbo.PortalAlias table.
- Right click on the table and select Edit Top 200 rows.
- You should now see a list of all the portal aliases and what portal they are assigned to.
- From here locate the dnnmax.com /tempdomain.com portal alias you wish to remove.
- Right click on the row and select delete.
- After you have done this you will need to recycle the application pool. You can follow the KB article listed: How to Recycle the Application Pool of a Website.
- It is a good idea to clear the cache of the web browser you're using on your local machine at this point.
